The difference between live streaming and filming a video is that with live streaming you cannot have multiple takes. So checking that everything is ready before filming is important.

For both mobile and webcam, you can go live right away, or schedule a live stream for later. Going live now might be great for impromptu occasions, or breaking news. A scheduled live stream allows you some time to prepare and promote.

Things to keep in mind

	Frame the shot. Keep your frame interesting by moving around (if appropriate for the shoot). Use a tripod, selfie stick, or accessories to avoid camera shake. Be careful not to block the lens with your hands.
	Test the audio quality. Find a quiet location and watch out for wind, traffic, appliances, and background noises that can interfere with the sound quality. Using a microphone can improve your audio.
	To keep your stream dynamic and minimize the amount of unwanted pauses, plan content in advance. Even a loose script of when you plan to talk about various topics or introduce a specific segment can help keep your stream organized.
	Check the strength of your network signal For live streaming from a computer, it’s recommended to use an Ethernet cable connection. For streaming with your mobile check that you have a good connection and try to stay in areas with a strong signal. A good rule of thumb is that the stream will use about 10 MB of data per 1 minute of stream. You may have a high-speed connection, but if many people are sharing that network, your individual connection may be limited. Run a speed test. Inbound bandwidth (download speed) is often greater than outbound (upload). Make sure your outbound connection is enough to send your stream bitrate. Primary + Backup + 20% is recommended.
