Edit or delete policies

Features described in this article only apply to users of YouTube Studio Content Manager. For info on general YouTube policies, learn more here.

After you’ve created a policy, you can go back and make edits to it. Any edits you make will be automatically applied to all claims using that policy.

You can also delete custom policies that aren’t being used. Policies can’t be deleted if they’re currently applied to active claims or set as a default policy. Predefined policies such as Monetize in all countries, Track in all countries, or Block in all countries also can’t be deleted.

Edit a policy

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, select Policies .
  3. Click the name of the policy you want to edit.
  4. Edit the policy details as necessary, following the same steps as when you created the policy.
  5. Click SAVE.

Delete a policy

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, select Policies .
  3. In the right column, click the Select action drop down.
  4. Select Delete.
    • Note: The Delete action isn’t available if you've selected a policy that's applied to an active claim or is one of the predefined policies.
