Create the OAuth web client ID

In Google Cloud, create the OAuth web client ID for the Google Workspace Migrate platform.

Steps to create the web client ID

Important: If you create an OAuth web client after August 7, 2022, you need to use Google Workspace Migrate version or later. For details, go to Upgrade the software

  1. In Google Cloud, open the project you created earlier.

    If you manually created a service account, the project was created in Step 1: Use Google Cloud to turn on APIs. If you created the project using a script, the project name is listed in the Cloud Shell Editor after the script runs.

  2. Click APIs & Servicesand thenOAuth consent screen. You might have to click Menu "" first.
  3. For User Type, select Internal.
  4. Click Create.
  5. For App name, add the name of your application. 
  6. Select a User support email for users to contact with questions.
  7. For Developer contact information, enter email addresses so Google can contact you about changes to your project.
  8. Click Save and Continueand thenSave and Continueand thenBack to Dashboard.
  9. Click APIs & Servicesand thenCredentials. You might have to click Menu "" first.
  10. Click Create Credentialsand thenOAuth client ID.
  11. For Application type, select Web application.
  12. For Name, enter a name for the OAuth web client.
  13. For Authorized JavaScript origins, click Add URI and enter the HTTP origins that host the Google Workspace Migrate platform (for example, http://localhost:5131).
  14. Click Create.
  15. For Your Client ID, copy the Client ID. You’ll need it when you set up the Google Workspace Migrate platform.

    Tip: You can also access the client ID from APIs & Serviceand thenCredentials.

  16. Click OK.
