See Wifi points and connected devices

The Network tab in the Google Wifi app lets you see how many Wifi points and personal devices are connected to your Wi-Fi network. You'll be able to check the connection strength of your Wifi points and how much data each connected device (like your laptop, phone, or tablet) uses.

See Wifi point connection strength

The app shows the connectivity strength of each Wifi point in your system and lets you run a mesh test whenever you want.

1. Open the Google Wifi app.

2. Tap the tab, then the devices icon.

3. Your Wifi points will be displayed as well as their connection strength and when the last mesh test took place.

4. To test their connection again, tap Test Mesh.

See connected devices and data usage

The Google Wifi app shows how much data your Wifi point is downloading and uploading currently and up to 60 days historically.

1. Open the Google Wifi app.

2. Tap the tab, then the devices icon.

3. In the Network screen, the numbers next to "Devices" represent your total Internet (WAN) traffic to and from your Wifi point.

4. Below your network name, there is a list of all devices connected to your Wi-Fi. Next to each device is the data usage numbers -- how much data it has downloaded and uploaded from and to the internet.

Tap a device from the list to see details like usage charts, IP address, and MAC address.

Note: The app displays details for all devices connected via Wi-Fi or connected directly to your Wifi point with an ethernet cable.

5. Tap a specific device to see details. In the Usage tab, there’s a graph breaking down how much data the device has used over the selected time frame. In the Details tab, you’ll find device details like connection status, IP address, and MAC address.

See historical data usage

Google Wifi lets you see your data usage over five different time frames: real-time, today, and the last 7, 30, or 60 days

Here's how:

  1. Open the Google Wifi app.
  2. Tap the tab, then the devices icon.
  3. Near the top, tap the time frame and select the desired period.
