Mac OS X
Chrome, FireFox or Safari
All browsers share the same plugin installation.
To uninstall, remove the following file and folder:
- /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/WidevineMediaOptimizer.plugin
- /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/WidevineMediaOptimizer
- Close and quit all browser windows.
- Using Spotlight (Search), find Internet Plug-Ins.
- Open the Internet Plug-Ins folder.
- Right-click on WidevineMediaOptimizer.plugin and select Move to Trash.
Microsoft Windows
Chrome
- Close and quit all browsers.
- Open the Control Panel.
- Under Programs, select Uninstall a Program.
- On older versions of Windows, select Add/Remove Programs.
- Select Widevine Media Optimizer Chrome 6.0.0 and click Uninstall/Change.
- The program will be removed from the list.
Firefox
- Open the Add-Ons Manager.
- Select Extensions.
- Select the Widevine Media Optimizer plugin and click Remove.
- Restart the browser after the plugin is removed.
Internet Explorer
- Close and quit all browsers.
- Open the Control Panel.
- Under Programs, select Uninstall a Program.
- On older versions of Windows, select Add/Remove Programs.
- Select Widevine Media Optimizer IE 6.0.0 and click Uninstall/Change.
- The program will be removed from the list.
Verify plugin removal
- In Chrome, you can do this by entering chrome://plugins/ in the URL field.
- In Firefox, you can do this by going to Tools/Add-Ons, then go to both Plugins and Extensions.
- In Safari, go to Help/Installed Plug-ins.
- In Internet Explorer, you can do this by going to Tools/Manage add-ons, then choose Show: All add-ons.
