Request personal content removal from Google Search

Google’s personal content and product policies apply wherever you are in the world, but we also have processes in place to remove or restrict access to content based on local laws. To remove content based on a specific legal reason–including, but not limited to copyright infringement, trademark violations, or a court order—create a request through the Legal Help Center.

You may report the same content through both legal and content/product policy reporting paths, but you must file each report separately. Reporting content through a content/product policy path does not substitute for reporting it through a legal path and does not serve as legal notice.

Why are you requesting personal content removal from Google Search?

Request removal of nudity or sexual content from Google Search

When an individual under 18 is shown in a nude or sexually explicit manner, this is considered Child Sexual Abuse Material.

If you find a link, website, or any content that is sexually abusive towards children, you can contact one of these organizations, which can report it to the appropriate authorities.

We understand that it can be distressing when Google displays search results containing nudity or sexually explicit content related to you.

Google may be able to help you or someone you’re authorized to represent remove content from Search that:

  • is nude, intimate, or sexually explicit (for example, images or videos of you) and is distributed without permission; OR
  • is fake or falsely depicts you as nude or in a sexually explicit situation; OR
  • incorrectly associates you or your name with pornography

To get started, we’ll ask you for some information about the content to better understand your situation and get you to the right place to request removal.

Describe the content

*

Have you ever given permission to distribute the content?

(Having given permission in the past does not disqualify you from requesting removal of the content.)

*
How are you connected to this content? *
Are you currently being paid for this content? *
Has the content been withdrawn from publication? *
Based on the description of your situation, the Personal Sexual Content policy may not apply. There may be another option for removal of this content under DMCA (copyright removals). To request removal under DMCA, use this form.

To learn what content can be removed, read our policies. For additional support, visit our Help Center for Support resources for removing explicit or intimate personal images.

I would like Google to remove explicit results for similar searches in the future.

(Google will do its best with this, but we may not catch everything.)

Request removal of images of minors from Google Search

When an individual under 18 is shown in a nude or sexually explicit manner, this is considered Child Sexual Abuse Material.

If you find a link, website, or any content that is sexually abusive towards children, you can contact one of these organizations, which can report it to the appropriate authorities.

Google will remove images of current minors (meaning anyone below the age of 18) from Image Search results at the request of the minor or their parent or guardian, with the exception of cases of compelling public interest or newsworthiness.

So that we can help you, please make sure that your request meets these requirements for us to consider it for removal:

  • The request is for an image of a minor.
  • The request is not to remove a web URL (pages with both text and images). Web URLs are not eligible for removal under this policy.
  • The individual is still a minor (below age 18) at the time of this report or passed away before reaching adulthood.
  • The image is not from a social media account or a web page that you manage.

The content shows you, or someone you are authorized to represent (for example, as their parent, guardian, or lawyer) nude, in a sexual act, or in an intimate state.

These organizations can report CSAM/child sexual abuse material (content that depicts a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct) to the appropriate authorities.
Residents of Indiamust use a country-specific dedicated form to report Child Sexual Abuse Material (related to children under 18).
Residents of South Korea must use a country-specific dedicated form to report Child Sexual Abuse Material (related to children under 18).

Request removal of content on sites with exploitative removal practices from Google Search

We understand it can be distressing when content about you or someone you are authorized to represent is on sites that require people to pay money directly to them or to other agencies to get the content removed.

So that we can help you, please make sure that your request meets these requirements for us to consider it for removal:

  • The website is not a business review site
  • The website has removal practices that necessitate payment to have the content removed

We generally aim to preserve information access if the content is determined to be of public interest.

Has the website asked you to pay money to the site or to an agency for personal content removal? *
Note: Child sexual abuse imagery is illegal and should NOT be shared in this form. Do not take or include screenshots containing child sexual abuse imagery or any content that presents someone under 18 in a sexual way. Learn how to report child sexual abuse imagery.

Request removal of content containing personal information from Google Search

We understand that it can be distressing when personal content is shared without your permission and is discoverable in Google search results. In many cases, this type of content (including personally identifiable information that is shared with malicious intent, known as "doxxing") violates our policies and may be removed.

We generally aim to preserve information access if the content is determined to be of public interest.

Before filling out a removal request form, we'll need to ask you a few questions about the content so we can better understand your situation, and direct you to the right place to request removal.
