Box around search result in Chrome desktop

Hello,

Today I noticed something strange in the search result layout when using the desktop version of Google Chrome. There is a box-shadow around each result that only appears when I am logged in my Google account, as shown bellow.

(a) search when logged in my Google account:

(b) search in incognito window:
.

These boxes are pretty annoying in the desktop view, mainly when searching for news and videos. I already cleaned cache and cookies and reset settings in chrome://settings/, but it does not help.

Is there a way to remove the boxes and return to the default layout or these are some kind of A/B test linked to specific Google accounts?

Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide.

Google constantly targets random users with experimental variations to the Search and Image Search interfaces. Sometimes the differences are barely noticeable. Other variations are much more noticeable.

You're probably seeing one of these experiments. You could try clearing cache and cookies but, if that doesn't help, there's nothing you can do but wait until Google thinks you've had enough and releases you from the experiment!

As this is a user-to-user community, there's nothing we can do about this. I encourage you to send your feedback direct to Google using the "Send Feedback" link at the bottom of the results page.

My test screen looks like his second screenshot.  No pale line making a box around each search result.

Also, I am signed in my account.

Mine looks the same. (Has a box shadow around search results.). It's driving me nuts.

Keep sending Feedback.  Let "all" your voices be heard by the Google Teams.  It is easy to do, just scroll to the end of the search results page.

I am not a fan of the new box-shadows either so after I search something on Google I do this. :(I will try to make it a script if Google decides to keep the box-shadow)
- Open up your debugger (Ctrl + Shift + J)
- On the Console tab, paste the following code and hit enter.
- Now paste this one and hit enter::
 $("div").removeClass("GjRtuc");

What it does is to add jQuery to your JavaScript which then helps you to remove GjRtuc class which has that new box-shadows in it.

Each chrome tab has it's own debugger DevTools so make sure you are in the right debugger window.
