Images flash and shimmer the part that is relevant to my search?

I googled a few images lately and I've noticed that there's this animated shimmer that highlights the relevant part I googled... And it's very distracting.

How do I turn that off? I don't need a feature to show me that for instance the sloth image I googled has a sloth in it. Especially when it takes up a third of the image.

This behaviour appears to be associated with Google Lens scanning the image, highlighting the subject briefly to let you know Google Lens is available for further actions on that image. By tapping the image, you can search for matching or similar image results, or find and translate text.

I'm not aware of any way to turn this feature off.

If you'd like to let Google know what you think about this behaviour, I suggest you send feedback direct to Google. Close the image preview and, on the thumbnail results page, tap your profile pic/initial top right and select Help & feedback > Send feedback.
