Limiting searches by date

On the Google android app, can make google always sort search results in order of the last time a result page was updated? Almost all of my cellphone Google searches are for the most recent information. If it isn't possible to do so automatically, is there a way to specify this in the search field?

There's no way to sort Google Search results by date, although it can be done for News searches, where the date of the results is much more reliable.
You can, however, use  before:yyyy/mm/dd  and/or  after:yyyy/mm/dd  in the search box to specify date ranges.
