Gianluca AbadVoice Match settings grayed out (feature unavailable in your language)
1 Recommended AnswerPhone is a LG v30 updated to Oreo 8.0
Assistant/Google Ver. 7.18.50.21.arm64
I want to go into my voice settings and activate "Say OK google at anytime" and "Unlock with Voice Match" but the options are grayed out.
Under "Say Ok Google at any time" it says that this feature isn't supported in your language. I got my LG v30 from a Japanese carrier (live in Japan) and all the settings from system to various input and google settings are set to US or (US) English.
Even if my phone were set to Japanese for language and system settings, voice is supported in the Japanese language.
When I got my phone I went through the typical setup where I say "Ok google" three times and I can use my voice to ask google assistant things after I hold the home button.
I tried uninstalling the google app and deleting cache etc. but it didn't seem to work. I just want to be able to say "OK Google" and use the voice commands hands free.
Thank you!

- Try clearing the cache and data of the Google App: Settings > Apps > Google App > Storage > Clear Cache and then tap on Manage Space > Clear All Data. Please note that this will delete all the preferences of the Google App including the widgets.

Gianluca AbadHey Lucas, this is Luca here!
I deleted the updates and cleared the cache, after restarting the phone I was prompted to set up Ok Google again and now I can use all the voice options!
Thanks, your fix worked brilliantly!
Now that the voice settings aren't grayed out will it be safe to update the google app or perhaps I shouldn't? I mean if I update it it's not like the app will re-gray ok google's voice settings...will it?
Thanks for your response I look forward to it again!

Thanks for the update.
Thanks for the update.
I am glad to hear your issue is resolved.
As each update comes with its own fix, I'd suggest you stick with the older version until next update rolls out.

I was able to retrain my google assistant voice again since it isnt greyed out anymore :) thank you, you are a genius!
