Known Bose QC-35 II / Pixel Buds issue with the Google Assistant on Android Oreo

Hi there,

Andy from Google here - we want to confirm we’re aware of an issue affecting some Android Oreo users who are attempting to use the Google Assistant with their Bose QC-35 II headphones and/or Pixel Buds. Additionally, play/pause functionality may also not work for affected users. This issue does not appear to affect Google Pixel phone models.

We are working with our hardware partners to resolve the issue, and are also working internally to identify a workaround. In the meantime, you can try switching your headphone's action button to "Noise Cancellation".

We hope to have a fix in place in the next version of the Google app. Thanks for your patience while our team works to resolve this!

Best,

Update: this issue should now be resolved. If you have other questions or problems with Assistant on your Bose QC-35 II headphhones or Pixel Buds, please create a new topic.

Thanks!
