Problem with Google Assistant and "ask...to", "let me talk to..." etc. commands

I would like to use Google Assistant to talk to third party apps like AutoVoice, NBC News, Anchor etc, but every time I try to use one of the following commands (for example)
- Ask AutoVoice to do something
- Let me talk to Autovoice
- talk to anchor
and so on, the only info I got back is some results from google search from internet. I cannot execute anything from above apps. The ones that need to be linked, are correctly linked to my gmail account, the same account of course is used for Assistant. I have got latest google apk version, as well as google services, and I am using the android phone with Android vs 7.1.2 r17. Used language is English (US) and I have no idea where I have got something incorrectly set up. Could anyone help here?

Hi Rafał and Pawan,

Welcome to the Google Search and Assistant Help Forum!

@Rafal: Just wanted to let you know that as of now Google Assistant services to third party applications are limited. In this situation, I'd encourage you share feedback directly with the Google Assistant team from the app. To send feedback, open Google assistant > click on explore option at the top right corner, then more icon (3 vertical dots) option at the top right corner > now tap on Send Feedback.

Although you will not receive a reply, they're using this feedback to improve the overall product experience.

@Pawan: Are you referring to sending file using GMail? If yes, then please start a new thread on the Gmail Help Forum for best possible assistance. If not, then start a new thread in this forum with more information along with screenshots to help us investigate the issue further.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Lucas

Hi Lucas,

I don't know what do you mean by limited, but for sure using AutoVoice is not limited, because people do such things (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTrOdZk3RnQ) and NBC News or Anchor are listed in Google Assistant, there are even examples of usage. Could you extend this limitation? What did you mean?

Regards,
Rafal

H Rafal,

Just to confirm, did you link the Google Assistant with Auto Voice and all other apps? If not, please try linking them from the Google Assistant that may help resolve the issue. Here's how:
  1. Tap and hold the home button of your device to launch Google Assistant.
  2. Tap on Explore icon at the top right corner.
  3. Scroll down to find Auto voice app under Productivity section and tap on it.
  4. You should see a Link option > tap on the option to link the app to Google Assistant.
  5. Repeat same steps to link Google Assistant with all other apps.
After linking the app, try the commands and see if the issue persists.

Please keep me posted.

Regards,
Lucas

Hi Lucas,

Unfortunately applications that need to be linked (like Autovoice) are already linked, and the ones that do not to be linked (like NBC news) also do not work.
My Google app is of course up to date, as well as Google services.

Rafal

I had a similar problem where I kept getting the response, "Your AutoVoice account is not linked to Google".  I resolved it following the steps in Lucas' post: https://productforums.google.com/d/msg/websearch/HwJUpkrHPr4/xIJACIlEAwAJ

I have the latest Google  and AutoVoice apps and as of today I can confirm this works on my non-rooted Samsung S8: Saying "OK, ask AutoVoice to" followed by AutoVoice command.

I looked at your photos above.  Are you sure your AutoVoice commands are working?  Google Now still appears to be working, and you can test your AutoVoice commands by pressing the mic on the Google search bar on the home screen.

There is also the "Testing" option in AutoVoice settings.

Just throwing it out.  I've been going around in circles for weeks trying to get this whole Tasker, AutoVoice, Google Assistant thing working, and have found absent any clear, definitive documentation, it's little tidbits of info that seem to help most.

Thanks for a reply. All commands work perfectly with Google now. Same as you, I have been struggling with this issue since last Autovoice was released. At the beginning I thought it is a Tasker/Autovoice problem, but like I wrote in a first post, any application that suppose to work with Google Assistant simply does not work. I tried many variations, original SW from phone manufacturer (both rooted and not rooted), custom rooms (also rooted and not rooted). I considered as well that some app might block this functionally, so I set up my phone like it would be brand new having there only stuff that must be plus of course Google app. Also apps that suppose to work with Google Assistant did not work. I have no idea what is happening, like some settings of my account are not proper. Does the country of living matters? Of course all stuff on my mobile (language etc.) is in English, besides language of Google keyboard, which is Polish and English.

Hi again Lucas,

Now I am sure that this is because something is wrong with my account. I created the new one to check if it's telephone, ROM or account, and on the new one all works fine. Maybe that shed some light on my problem. Is it possible somehow to reset Google account?
