Listen to podcasts with CarPlay

Listen to podcasts in your car with Apple CarPlay. Use CarPlay to listen to podcasts you’re subscribed to, podcasts in your queue, and downloaded podcasts.

What you need to use CarPlay

• An iPhone 5S and up
• iOS 12 and up
• Google Podcasts version 2.0.2 and up
• A car model that supports CarPlay

Listen to podcasts

Important: Use your phone to manage your podcasts, and to find, download, and queue episodes for your trip on your favorite podcast app.

Play new episodes

To show new episodes of podcasts you’re subscribed to:

1. On CarPlay, open the Google Podcasts app .
2. Select New episodes .
3. Select an episode.

Play episodes of podcasts in your queue

Tip: Use your phone to queue episodes for your trip. 

1. On CarPlay, open the Google Podcasts app .
2. Select Your queue .
3. Select an episode.

Play your subscriptions

Tip: To show new episodes of podcasts you're subscribed to, select New episodes .

1. On CarPlay, open the Google Podcasts app .
2. Select Activity   Subscriptions.
3. To view available episodes from a publisher, select a podcast.

Play downloaded episodes

Tip: Use your phone to download episodes.

1. On CarPlay, open the Google Podcasts app .
2. Select Activity   Downloads.
3. Select an episode.

Resume in-progress episodes

1. On CarPlay, open the Google Podcasts app .
2. Select Activity   In progress.
3. Select an episode.
