Search for info with Google app widget on your Home screen.

You can control the color and transparency of the Search widget on your Android phone or tablet.

Add the Google app widget to your home screen

Add from Google App

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open your Google app .
2. At the top right, tap your Profile picture or Initial  Settings  Customize Search Widget.
3. At the top right corner, tap Add.

Add from Widget Menu

1. On an empty part of your homescreen, touch and hold.
2. Tap Widgets.
3. Search or scroll to find Google.
4. Touch and hold, then drag the Google Widget.
5. To exit flow, back press or swipe back.

Customize your Search widget 

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open your Google app .
2. At the top right, tap your Profile picture or Initial Settings Customize Search widget.
3. At the bottom, to customize the color, shape, transparency and Google logo, tap the icons.
4. Once you leave the “Settings” page, your customization settings will be saved automatically.

Tip: If you want to return your widget to its previous look, at the top right, tap Reset.

Reset your Search widget settings

Important: If you reset the widget to default or clear your Google app data, your customization settings will be reset.

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google app .
2. At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial Settings Search widget Customize widget.
3. At the bottom, tap Reset to default style  Save.

Tip: You can reset your widget to default. 

Remove the Search widget

You can remove the Search widget from your phone or tablet. Learn how to remove an app, shortcut, widget, or group.

If you're on an older device, you can’t remove the Search widget from your phone or tablet.
