Ask & answer questions on Google Search

On Google Search, you can ask and answer questions about what you search. Contributions on Google Search don't work in all languages and all countries/regions.

Tip: Before you write a question or answer, read the policies for content posted by users on Search.

What others can find

Your questions and answers could be shown to other users along with the name from your About Me page. Your questions may be shared with online publishers who can help answer your questions. You can’t add anonymous questions or answers.

Answer questions

  1. Go to Google.com or open the Google app Google Search.
  2. Do a search.
  3. Under "Q&A on Google," tap or click a question.
  4. If it has answers, you can:
    • Agree with an existing answer: Tap or click the answer and then Upvote Upvote.
    • Add your own answer: After the last answer, tap or click Add answer.
  5. Enter your answer and tap or click Post.

Ask questions

  1. Go to Google.com or open the Google app Google Search.
  2. Do a search.
  3. Under "Q&A on Google," tap or click Ask the community.
  4. Enter your question And then tap or click Post.

When you post an answer or ask a question, you might get autocorrect suggestions for what to post or ask:

  • To ignore the suggestion: Tap or click Skip.
  • To accept the suggestion: Tap or click Yes.
Tip: To get alerts on new responses to questions, tap or click Follow. To manage questions you follow, go to your contributions.

Edit or delete your questions & answers

  1. Go to your contributions.
  2. Find your question or answer.
    • Next to your answer: Tap or click More More and then Edit or Delete.
    • Next to your question: Tap or click More More and then Delete.

Tip: You can't edit questions.

Report a question or answer

If you find a question or answer that violates our policies, you can report it. Under a question or answer, tap or click Flag.
