Create a library on Google Books

You can organize books and magazines into a library.

Add books or magazines to your library

  1. Go to Google Books.
  2. Click My Library.
  3. Choose a shelf in your library.
  4. Click Settings Settings and then Add by ISBN or ISSN.
  5. Enter the ISBNs or ISSNs of the books or magazines you want to add.
  6. Click Add books.

Create a bookshelf

You can have different bookshelves in your Google Books library. Some shelves are already created for you, but you can add more shelves.

Create a bookshelf
  1. Go to Google Books.
  2. In the top right, click Sign in.
  3. At the bottom, click My Library.
  4. On the left side of your Library, click New Shelf.
  5. Enter a name for your bookshelf.
  6. Optional: To hide this shelf, select Make private.
  7. Click Create bookshelf.
Delete a bookshelf

If you delete a bookshelf, any books, labels, and notes inside the bookshelf will be deleted too.

  1. Go to Google Books.
  2. In the top right, click Sign in.
  3. Select My Library.
  4. Choose a shelf you want to delete.
  5. Click Settings Settings and then Delete bookshelf.
  6. Click Delete bookshelf again.

Note: You can’t delete your default bookshelves.

Share books in your library

You can make shelves in your library public so other people can see them.

  1. Go to Google Books.
  2. In the top right, click Sign in.
  3. Click My Library.
  4. If your Google Account isn’t linked to your Google Books account, go to the left and click Show my Profile next to my public Books data.
  5. On the left, click the name of a bookshelf.
  6. Click Settings Settings and then Edit properties.
  7. Next to "Visibility," click Make Public.
  8. Click Save.
