Make Google your homepage

You can quickly get to Google every time you open your browser by making Google your homepage. 

Change your homepage

If you don't see your browser listed below, go to the "Help" section of your browser and look for information about how to change your browser’s homepage.

Google Chrome

Note: You can set a homepage for Google Chrome on your computer, but not on your phone or tablet.

  1. In the top right corner of your computer's browser, click More More and then Settings.
  2. In the "Appearance" section, turn on Show home button.
  3. Select the second option with the text field.
  4. Enter
  1. Open your browser and visit
  2. Drag and drop that tab onto the Home button, then release. 
  3. Click Yes.
  1. In the top left corner of your screen, select Safari and then Preferences and thenGeneral.
  2. Next to "New windows open with" and "New tabs open with," select Homepage
  3. In the Homepage section, enter in the text box.
Internet Explorer
  1. In the menu bar on the top of your browser, click Tools.
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. In the "Home page" section, enter in the text box.
  5. Click OK.

After you finish the steps above, restart your browser to see your new homepage.

Microsoft Edge
  1. In the upper right corner of your browser, select More More and then Settings.
  2. Scroll down to "Open with," select A specific page or pages.
  3. Open the list and select Custom. Then, select the "X" next to the device's current homepage.
  4. Next to "Enter a web address," type and select the plus sign.
Android browser
  1. Open your browser app. It might be called Internet or Browser.
  2. On your phone or in the top right of the browser, tap the More button.
  3. Tap Settings and then Homepage and then Other web page.
  4. Enter
  5. Tap OK.


Tip: You can also make Google your default search engine.

Google is stuck as my homepage

Google won't change your homepage settings without your permission. To learn how to reset your homepage, choose a browser above. When you follow the steps, replace Google with the site you want as your homepage.
