Get to Google on Safari

If you use the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPad, you can get to Google quickly by making Google your default search engine or by creating a bookmark.

Tip: You can also open Google fast by downloading the Google app.

Make Google your search engine

  1. Open the Settings app Settings.
  2. Tap Safari and then Search Engine and then Google.

Get to Google using a bookmark

Step 1: Create a Google bookmark

Safari mobile browsers don't have a homepage. The best way to get to Google when you open Safari is to set it as a bookmark.

  1. In your Safari browser, visit www.google.com.
  2. Tap Share Share.
  3. In the panel that pops up, tap Add bookmark Bookmark.
  4. Tap Locationand thenBookmarksand thenSave.

Step 2: Go to Google

After you create a bookmark, you can go to Google a few ways:

  1. Open your Safari browser.
  2. Tap Bookmark Bookmarkand thenGoogle.
From the search box
  1. Open your Safari browser.
  2. Tap inside the search box.
  3. Tap Google Google Search .
Open a new tab
  1. Open your Safari browser.
  2. To open a new tab, at the bottom of your screen tap New tab . (If you're on an iPad, skip this step).
  3. At the bottom of your screen, tap Add Add.
  4. Tap Google Google Search.
