What happened to iGoogle?
iGoogle was retired on November 1, 2013. The mobile version was retired on July 31, 2012.
Why iGoogle was retired
We launched iGoogle in 2005, before anyone could fully imagine the ways the way today's web and mobile apps would personalize information. With apps that run on platforms like Chrome and Android, iGoogle wasn’t needed as much anymore.
What will happen to the data stored in my gadgets?
Google products, like Gmail and Drive
All of your personal information in other Google products is still available. Those products include Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Finance, Google Drive, Google Bookmarks, and Google Tasks.
iGoogle gadgets
Most iGoogle gadgets are created and maintained by developers outside of Google. If you’d like to export your data, contact the gadget creator directly.
Alternatives to iGoogle
- Computer: There are a number of desktop alternatives available. If you use Chrome, the Chrome Web Store has productivity tools and apps you can download. You can also personalize Chrome with a theme.
- Mobile: Google Play has apps ranging from games to news readers to home screen widgets.
