In AI Mode, you can generate and download files from simple text prompts, uploaded images or files, and your existing AI Mode threads.
For example, you can add a photo of your handwritten notes and lecture slides. Then, ask Google Search for a one-page PDF outlining key concepts.
This feature is currently available to users 18 or older in English.

How to generate custom files in Google Search
You can generate custom files in the following ways:
- Go to AI Mode.

- To generate a file, you can:
- Directly request a file. For example:
- “Generate a PDF for a 4-day beach travel packing list."
- Upload images and files and type what you want to do. For example:
- “Make a weekly study plan from my notes and give it to me in a Word doc.”
- Select a file creation suggestion if one appears.

- You can generate your content files in various file formats, including but not limited to:
- Documents: .pdf, .docx, .md, .txt, .rtf, LaTeX.
- Spreadsheets: .xlsx, .csv, .tsv.
- Presentations: .pptx.
- Once created, select the generated file to download.

- AI Mode leaves your original file untouched and creates a new version with your requested edits.
