Make purchases and manage orders directly from AI Mode in Google Search

You can now check out with eligible U.S. retailers right from certain product listings on Google in AI Mode in Search. This new checkout experience helps you buy confidently and securely with Google Pay using your payment and shipping information in Google Wallet.

Important:

  • This feature is only available for signed in 18+ users in the US, in English.
  • This functionality is beginning to roll out with eligible merchants with some restrictions in the types of products it will work with, including those that require ID verification like alcohol or tobacco, and digital goods products that require customization or special delivery requirements. We'll continue to expand product availability in the coming months.
  • This functionality is available on desktop and mobile devices.

How this feature works

When you find a product you like in AI Mode on Search, click on it to check product details and prices from various merchants.

  • When you select the desired option (such as color, size, format), eligible products will show the "Buy" button.
  • Google will ask you to confirm the payment details and shipping address to place the order.
  • After you’ve made a purchase, track your orders and find order details in AI Mode.
    • At the top right of your browser, select your Profile picture or Initial.
    • Select My orders.
  • Any post-purchase follow ups such as order confirmation emails will come directly from the merchant.

Tip: Your purchase is made directly with the merchant. The order transaction will show up on your credit card statement under the merchant name you purchased the product from.

Link your apps to your Google account 

Important: This feature is only available for select merchants in the US.

For participating merchants, you can link your existing memberships and shopping apps programs to your Google account. By linking your accounts, you can: 

  • Streamline the checkout process.
  • Earn loyalty points or apply rewards to your purchases automatically. 
  • Access member-only pricing and exclusive retailer deals.

Note: Rewards, deals, and preferences vary by merchant. Please check each merchant’s terms of service.

How to link your accounts

  • When you click the Buy button on a product, for certain merchants, you will be asked to link your Google Account to the specific retailer account.
  •  Review the permissions. These permissions allow Google to see loyalty info, manage orders, and customize your experience.
  • Select Agree and continue.
  • Sign in to your retailer account or create a new one if prompted.
  • Confirm the link by selecting Accept on the final permission screen.
  • You will see a confirmation screen once your accounts are linked.  

Tip:

  • You can review your linked accounts and unlink anytime from specific merchants.

Manage your orders

Important: For all purchases, the merchant handles your payment, shipping, returns, and customer support.

Find and track your orders

  1. On your computer, go to google.com, you must be signed in to a personal Google Account.

  2. At the top right, click your Profile picture or Initial.
  3. Go to My orders.
  4. Click any order to find details:
    • Order ID
    • Order status
      • Processing
      • Shipped
      • Delivered
    • Merchant information
    • Order total and payment method used

Delete an order

  1. On your computer, go to My orders.
  2. Click More on the right side of your order.
  3. Select Delete from this list.
  4. Select Delete to confirm your action in the pop-up.

Note: Deleting an order permanently removes the order from your order history. This does not impact the status of your order. Your order will still appear in your Google Pay transaction history.

Get help with an order

  1. On your computer, go to My orders.
  2. Click on the order you need help with to find order details.
  3. Go to the merchant website customer support page.

Fix problems with your order

If there’s a problem with your order, you may get one of the following error messages:

"Something went wrong"
  • Go to My orders.
    • If you find your order, there is no further action needed.
    • If your order is not on My orders, then check email for confirmation from the merchant.
    • If there’s no email confirmation from the merchant (expect some time lag between order placement and email confirmation) then the order wasn’t placed.
    • Go to the merchant’s website to place the order.
"Order not found"
  • Go to My orders.
    • If you find your order, there's no further action needed.
    • If your order is not on My orders, check for an email confirmation before trying your purchase again to avoid duplicate purchases.
    • If there’s no email confirmation from the merchant (expect some time lag between order placement and email confirmation), then the order wasn't placed.
    • Go to the merchant’s website to place the order.
"Purchase failed"
  • The item may be out of stock on the merchant’s website.
  • You may be missing required info to complete your order. Add the required details and try to place the order again.
  • Your payment method may be declined.You can try another payment method to complete your purchase.
