You can type, select a topic, or upload images to get started with Learn About.

With Learn About, you can expand your knowledge by creating an engaging learning journey that fits your needs and preferences.

Learn About Availability

Learn About is currently available:

  • To all users signed in to their Google account in the United States who are 18 or older.
  • Only in English.

Before you use

  • Learn About is powered by generative AI, which is experimental. Learn more about generative AI and its limitations.
  • Learn About is continuously evolving and may give inaccurate, offensive, or inappropriate information that doesn’t represent Google’s views.
  • Do not rely on responses from Learn About as medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

Get started with Learn About

There are two ways to access Learn About.

  • Google Search Explore Bar:
    • If available for your query, and if you’re signed in to your Google Account, at the top of Google Search results page, click the Learn tab.
  • Direct Access:
    1. Go to https://learning.google.com/experiments/learn-about.
    2. In the text box at the top, enter your question or prompt.
      • You can also upload an image.
    3. Click Submit or press Return or Enter on your keyboard.

Tip: To start a new chat, at the top left, click New chat .

Learn more about different terms in the content

You can learn more about any terms in the content that are new to you.

  1. Highlight any word(s) or phrase.
  2. From the dropdown menu, you can select one of the options for detailed info:
    • "What is this?": Get a definition or explanation.
    • "See a picture": Open an image related to the topic or word.
    • "Search the web": Find more information.
    •  "Ask about this…": Ask a more detailed question about something that’s shown in the conversation

To improve Learn About, you can provide your feedback:

Your feedback helps make Learn About more helpful, accurate, and safe.

  1. Rate the response:
    • Below every response from Learn About, you’ll see Good response or Bad response icons.
      • Click if you found the response helpful, accurate, and/or complete.
      • Click if you found the response unhelpful, inaccurate, unsafe, offensive, biased, broken, or otherwise problematic.
  2. Share more details:
    • To help us understand your feedback better, you can optionally enter text into the open text box to enter additional feedback.
      • For example, if you select Bad response because you found a response incorrect, selecting “Not Factually Correct” helps us understand your rating.
  3. Submit the response:
    • Click Submit to send additional feedback.

You can also request the removal of content under our policies or applicable laws.

How human reviewers improve Google AI

To help with quality and improve our products (such as generative machine-learning models that power Learn About), human reviewers read, annotate, and process your Learn About conversations. We take steps to protect your privacy as part of this process. This includes disconnecting your conversations with Learn About from your Google Account before reviewers see or annotate them. Please don’t enter confidential information in your conversations or any data you wouldn’t want a reviewer to see or Google to use to improve our products, services, and machine-learning technologies.
