Use tabs in the Google app

You can open multiple tabs in the Google app on iPhone and iPad. You can also view all of your tabs and switch between them. When you open a new tab, you can start a new search.

Open a new tab

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to the Google app .
  2. At the bottom, tap ​​Tabs and then New tab .

Open a tab from recent searches

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to the Google app .
  2. At the bottom, tap ​​Tabs.
  3. At the top right, tap History History.
  4. Find and select the search result you want to open.

Find your interests

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to the Google app .
  2. At the bottom, tap Tabs  and then Saved.
  3. On the Interests page, navigate to the tab you want.

Close tabs

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to the Google app .
  2. At the bottom, tap ​​Tabs.
  3. Find the tab that you want to close.
  4. In the upper corner of the tab, tap Close Close.

Tip: To close all tabs, in the upper corner, tap More More and then Close all open tabs.

Automatically close tabs

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to the Google app .
  2. At the bottom, tap ​​Tabs.
  3. In the upper right corner, tap More More and then Tabs settings Settings and then Clear tabs.
  4. Select when to close tabs automatically.

Organize your tabs

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to the Google app .
  2. To display all tabs, at the bottom, tap ​​Tabs.
  3. To move a tab, tap it and hold. Drag it to the spot you want.

Find an open tab

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to the Google app .
  2. At the bottom, tap Tabs.
  3. At the top, tap the Search bar .
  4. Enter a keyword related to the tab that you want.
  5. When related tabs appear, select the tab that you want.
