Is domain and subdomain have different seo authority? 1 Recommended Answer 4 Replies 0 Upvotes

I have a site, in which I have a subdomain to handle in a domain like abc.com is the main domain and store.abc.com is a subdomain.
What are the effects of having a subdomain as a store, SEO-wise?
Will the main domain transfer its authority to store or not?
Do I have to consider these two different sites and put effort differently?

So, these are considered two separate sites. I have analyzed a site with a subdomain, and they have different ahref scores and DR. If I work on the main domain, then I have to work on the subdomain as well unless I have well interconnected the pages to share their PageRank. Am I right?

Well ahrefs might well treat them as separate sites.

I think DR is a concept that ahrefs have made up. Not something that search engines actually use.

As I understand it its some sort of sitewide aggregation of concept similar to pagerank. As such if the pages link to each other, they will incrase this pagerank like matric, and so may well affect the DR.
But only guessing.

They are considered to be one site seo-wise what I understand from your first statement.
