Weird URLs being targeted and visited to my website

My Website is : https://barcodebrandconsulting.com
I have weird URLs on my websites being visited constantly. Which does not even exists on the website itself.
I get  stats of people visiting with more page visits. I am just concerned why this is happening. And if that will affect my website ranking / rating etc. I cna see my website getting wrong impressions already, which is not my business niche. (eg. Home garden, body pillows etc. I don't know where all this stuff is coming from )  :

Small history : Sometime back my website was hacked and someone created and planted a GCP property against my profile, place the google html file on my hosting server and had a script written to generate URLs and content simultaneously uploading sitemap on my GCP.
I reported this sadly had to learn the entire thing the hard way and figure out the problem and do the clean up myself.

All the pages I see that looked like they were from the hack return a 404 which is good.
But many are still indexed so they may be bringing in random traffic.

Hi there!

There is always some random and weird traffic coming to websites. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it's coming in very high volumes, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Your website was hacked, so I would focus on the security aspect.

Do you have Google Analytics set up in such a way that it filters robots? These may also be some traffic from robots.

There are some of my thoughts and findings:
  • The example URL you gave is not indexed by Google site:barcodebrandconsulting.com/Home-Garden-41317/. It returns a 404. If real users come to this URL, you may implement a 301 redirect from it to the homepage.
  • I checked incoming links and I don't see links pointing to this garden stuff, so it looks OK.
  • I would also make sure you have a dedicated 404 page that informs the users that it is a 404, provides links to the main web pages of your website, and has the same layout as your homepage. The 404 page looks like this:

  • I would make sure to deeply analyze your traffic in GA like where it's coming from, what pages are the most often visited, how much time people spend on your web pages.

And I also have a few side notes about your website:
I am splitting my answer into a few parts because it's getting too big for my screen 🙂

With the site:barcodebrandconsulting.com I see there are a lot of those weird non-existent web pages:

All of these are 404s so it's OK. Google should soon drop them.

To speed this a little bit, you may want to ask Google to reprocess each of those URLs individually by using the URL inspect tool in Google Search Console. And you can find all of those URLs with the site: command.

Is it on purpose that you are using meta keywords across all of your pages?

I would also add categories to your blog. All you have now is this:

https://barcodebrandconsulting.com/category/blogs/
https://barcodebrandconsulting.com/category/blogs/page/25/
https://barcodebrandconsulting.com/category/blogs/page/65/
https://barcodebrandconsulting.com/category/blogs/page/49/
https://barcodebrandconsulting.com/category/blogs/page/21/
https://barcodebrandconsulting.com/category/blogs/page/57/
https://barcodebrandconsulting.com/category/blogs/page/17/
https://barcodebrandconsulting.com/category/blogs/page/33/
https://barcodebrandconsulting.com/category/blogs/page/45/
https://barcodebrandconsulting.com/category/blogs/page/69/
https://barcodebrandconsulting.com/category/blogs/page/29/

It's really hard for a user to navigate through your articles (the most important pieces of content in terms of SEO) if all they see is a blog with tens of pages.

I hope this helps just a little bit!

Good luck with your website.

Hi,

I also have the same issue on my website; the official website is https://www.mabapost.tn/ but it also working with this fake redirection URL https://www.mabapost.tn/670833/Collar-with-Velcro-Fastener/ I found this through Google Search Console and Google Analytics, and have many other URLs redirection that makes wrong traffic, etc. Please help how to remove this.
