GSC yielding high position and impressions for very common words

I've been working with a client on their Google Search console data, and we've had this very weird problem for the last few months where previously, our top search queries were normal and relevant to their business & what they were aiming to optimise for. But now, all our top search terms data have been filled with the word "bird" in different languages - it's a nature-related business which for sure includes the word "bird" many times on the website, but it's immediately obvious that the business is not at position 1.05 when one searches for "bird" on Google!

 This is the kind of thing that Google having no support contacts for Search Console makes very difficult and ambiguous to deal with - has anyone encountered this problem or a problem similar to it, and have you found a solution? It's effectively rendered the search query data useless.
