The website favicon icon is not appearing in google search, but shown on bing

We've worked on this problem for several months and checked the documentation of Google Search Central many times.

We've already change
  • the icon size to 144*144
  • the file type is .ico
  • add website, local business structure data
  • add <link rel="icon" href="/path/to/favicon.ico"> in the source code

Now it shows up on bing. But on google, it shows up for a couple weeks after we made some changes, but it still goes away.

Our website is en.uhomes.com

If your website's favicon isn't showing in Google search but appears on Bing, ensure it's properly implemented and indexed. Check for any caching issues and monitor Google Search Console for errors.

Hello There,

Few things you can try to fix the issue of your favicon not showing up on Google Search:

  • Google needs to crawl and index your favicon file to display it in search results. Place the favicon file in a public directory on your website and make sure it's not blocked by robots.txt.
  • Sometimes, a corrupted browser cache or cookies can stop your favicon from appearing. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, and then revisit your website.
  • Even if you submitted your favicon to Google Search Console months ago, it's worth resubmitting it. This will prompt Google to recrawl your website and search for the favicon file.
  • Ensure your favicon is in the root directory of your website.
  • Use a consistent file name like favicon.ico.
  • Use a square image, sized 16x16 pixels or 32x32 pixels.
  • Save your favicon in the ICO file format.
  • Google has certain requirements for favicons regarding size, format, and content. You can find detailed information about these requirements in the Google Search Central documentation at: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/favicon-in-search.

Once you have made the necessary changes, it may take some time for Google to update its search results & start showing your favicon.

Hope this help :)

Hi,

Have you changed this recently? The favicon file referenced in your code seems to be 48px, not 144px (although 48px should work just fine)
