Hubspot blog pages not indexed
0
Hi all,

I have a few new blogs developed in hubspot. I've manually requested indexing for each of them a while ago but they are still under the excluded category (status: Discovered - currently not indexed). I've checked the site map in hubspot and these blogs are all included. Any pointers are really appreciated!

what exact status do they show in Coverage? It gives more detailed feedback that just 'Excluded'.

Solutions etc are very different depending on the status.

Hi Shannon! Same issue here.

What I saw is that the <body> of my articles is injected by Javascript. I've checked if Google is rendering properly my articles and yes it is. But I couldn't figure out any other probable cause for this issue. So I'm working on it.

Based in what I've read, this is a very common issue in Hubspot due to its modules. I'm not a developer, so take utmost care.

Let me hear what you find until now and if we can help each other!

If site use client side rendering, then yes, can definitly have issues with indexing
(because while Google does try to execute JS in a headless browser, it can be fragile)

The mobile test
is a good way to test, as it has a screenshot. So can visually see how successful Google was at rendering the page.

@barryhunter thank you for the advice! I tried the mobile test and it is normal, however, the page is still listed as "Discovered - currently not indexed"

Oh, I hadnt noticed you edited the first post to mention the exact status. So now its discovered...

The help page says...
  • Discovered - currently not indexed: The page was found by Google, but not crawled yet. Typically, Google wanted to crawl the URL but this was expected to overload the site; therefore Google rescheduled the crawl. This is why the last crawl date is empty on the report.
... ie notice the 'not crawled yet'.

So it's not a problem with the specific page. ie Google hasn't even crawled it yet, so it can't have found a problem. It not formed an opinion on the page yet. It can't have found an issue with it!

It MAY indicate a more generate site wide issue. eg the server is struggling and/or just Google has just done lots of crawling already. It never quite managed to crawl that particular page. Its still on the 'to be crawled' list.

But it can also just be natural delays. Virtually all sites have some pages in this 'Discovered' state at some point; you only really 'noticing' because you keeping an eye out, and more closely monitoring the particular page.
