It says Site #1 has 28 issues and Site #2 has 1 issue on Mobile Usability. I checked those pages on my phone but couldn't tell what is causing the errors. So I just tried to validate again, and Google went through the validation process, and it looked like they got validated as No Issue once, but then it started to show the errors again.
One thing I noticed is, when I click the pages with GSC errors from Google Search Console account, it goes to my regular site, not mobile site.
And it takes me to a desktop version of this page, not a mobile page. But my sites has mobile versions of all pages, so it shouldn't take it to the desktop version of the page. And it is weird that ONLY 28 pages on my site has this issue because my site has hundreds of pages with almost the same design. So if 28 pages really have the issue, other hundreds more pages should have the same issue but ONLY 28 has the issue according to GSC.
Do you have any idea about how to fix this issue? Also, does this affect badly towards the SEO?
Ok, now actually look at the site, seems use some sort of 'Dynamic Serving'. Both desktop and mobile sites come on the same URL. No redirects needed! (talk of a redirects was a red-herring!)
You saw desktop site, because happened to open on a desktop browser!
If open on a mobile, then get mobile site.
So the mobile test - which uses a mobile agent, DOES get the mobile site
Technically yes, these intermittent failures MIGHT affect ranking on mobile results specifically. Ie page doesn't pass the test so doesn't get the TINY ranking boost, until it retested and passes next time.

Yes, you are right, the error on one of my websites seems to have passed the test and has no error anymore. However, my issue is that the error keeps coming back even after being resolved.
Also the other site, still has 22 unresolved errors. It decreased from 28 but still has 22.
Why is this happening when I made NO changes to my website?

But the thing is, the pages with GSC mobile usability errors are not mobile pages. They are desktop version of the pages. But my website has mobile site, so it doesn't make sense that GSC detect mobile usability errors on desktop version of my pages. My mobile pages seem to be working well. Any idea?

Ha, well it its kinda expected they don't pass the test then :)
If they desktop pages, it doent matter if pass the test or not!
Google will just test pages it finds. There is no way really of marking pages saying 'this is a desktop page, don't bother testing it'.
Although if may want to setup auto redirection to redirect mobile users to the mobile version. That way when the mobile user-agent tests the page, the desktop page will actully pass the test (because the test ends up running on the mobile page!)

Auto redirection, like, if you open my site on your mobile device, it'll automatically take you to the mobile version of my site? Yes, it already does that. If I open my site or if you open my site on your mobile device, I'm sure it'll take you to the mobile version of the site. But somehow if I click on those pages from GSC mobile usability page, it takes me to the desktop version of the page. So weird.
Do you think this affects SEO badly if I have those errors?

Of course I checked on my mobile phone, not desktop browser! It still took me to the desktop version of the pages on my MOBILE PHONE! But you know what, when I checked now, it took me to the mobile version today. So I guess Google is trying to fix the crawling route. It definitely took me to desktop version on my mobile phone a few days ago.
It still has 22 errors on my site, but it's decreasing from 28 errors, so I will keep monitoring it and see if it all gets resolved.
