Troubleshooting Video Sitemaps
After you’ve submitted your Sitemap, it’s best to wait up to 5 days to make sure there’s been enough time to index it. Once this time has elapsed, go to http://video.google.com, and perform a site-restrict query: [site:mydomain.com] to see search results for videos that match your domain. If your content is not appearing successfully, check the issues below. (Note, however, that Google does not guarantee to index all the URLs in a Sitemap.)
- Check the crawl errors page in Webmaster Tools to identify any issues Google's crawlers may have experienced when crawling your site.
- Make sure your robots.txt is not blocking the Googlebot from crawling your landing pages, thumbnails, or video data. You can use the Test robots.txt tool in Webmaster Tools to easily see if files or directories have been blocked.
- Check the Sitemap details page in Webmaster Tools to diagnose any errors Google found with your Sitemap, as well as potentially problematic changes.
