Request a malware review or unwanted software review
If your site is flagged as containing malware or unwanted software, you can request a malware or unwanted software review.
Prepare for your review
You must first take action on your own site before requesting a review.
- Make sure your site is free from any infected code and content. See What is malware for more details.
- Make sure your site does not serve binary malware or unwanted software downloads.
- Make sure your site complies with the Webmaster Guidelines.
Request a review
Once you've performed the steps above, you can request a review.
- Open the Security Issues Report.
- Click Request a review.
Once you clean your site and request the review, Google systems will scan your website for malware or unwanted software. If none is found, we'll remove the warning from your site. This can take a few days to happen; check the status of your request in the Security Issues section of Search Console.
If you have cleaned your site and the warning is still in place after a few days, you might not have found and removed all the problematic content on your site. (Our automatic scanners are far more accurate than humans, and they can discover code that you have missed.) Check Search Console for a list of URLs with potential problems—but remember that the list contains only a sample of problematic URLs.
Very rarely, it can take up to a day for malware and unwanted software warnings (and links to the review request form) to appear in Search Console after your search has been flagged in search results. If you don't see a warning in Search Console, but your site is flagged, please check back later.
