Monitor overall site health
In new Search Console
In the new Search Console, you should receive notifications if an important event happens that affects your site. Events include a dramatic change in the number of indexed pages or indexing errors, a manual action or security issue against your site, and other important events.
You can visit your property status page to check for any events. Look for spikes in performance or index coverage, warnings about manual actions or security issues, or other problems.
In old Search Console
To help you identify and prioritize the most important issues on your site, Search Console will display the Site Health alert next to your site on the Search Console home page whenever we detect certain problems or events that prevent us from crawling or indexing your site. The following events can trigger a Site Health alert:
- Google detects malware on your site.
- An important page is removed from your site. If you've intentionally removed a page that was previously generating traffic to your site, you can ignore this alert.
- An important page is blocked by robots.txt. If you've intentionally blocked a page (because you don't want it to appear in search results), you can ignore this alert.

We recommend that you regularly check the Search Console home page to see if your site is experiencing problems.
