Building custom components

Experienced Web developers can write their own custom components for use with Google Web Designer.

At the minimum, a valid component package would consist of a zip file that contains an appropriately formatted JSON manifest file. A custom component often has other files, such as a Custom Element, and any CSS files necessary for the component along with the JSON manifest file, although these are not strictly necessary (for example, a component could have all the JavaScript and CSS files served from a CDN and the JSON manifest file would simply have references to those files). It is good practice to give the zip file the same name as the component.
