Configure an event

Set the target element

The target element is the element (or an element's ancestor) that initiates the event. For example, you might have a Tap Area component that you want the user to touch to trigger an animation. In this case, the Tap Area is the event target.

Set the target from the stage

  1. Right-click the element.
  2. Select Add event... from the pop-up menu. The event dialog opens with the element already set as the target.
You can only select an element as an event target if the element has an ID attribute. If the element doesn't have an ID, you'll be prompted to add one in the Properties panel.

Set the target using the Events panel

  1. Click the Add event button in the Events panel to add a new event.
  2. Select the target from the list of elements. Elements without IDs and elements nested at a different document level don't appear in the list.
