Can you please check your version number? We've just released a fix in version 9.0.2.0915 that the media rules are not applied in some browser zoom level that might explain what you are seeing.

Please relaunch Google Web Designer to make sure you have version 9.0.2.0915 or higher, then re-publish your file to get the fix.

Please let us know if you are seeing the issue even after publishing in the newest version and provide us the author file (upload the zip of the author file, not published file, to Drive and share the URL with us). Please also let us know where you see the issue (serving ad?, wrap in an iframe?, etc.).

Thanks,
San

Received a screenshot from a colleague who received it from someone else... looks like maybe it was an app?

On my own phone (OnePlus) when I change the font size to be larger in the Accessibility settings the text gets wonky/larger in the Google Ads as well - but based on the placement of elements at least I know it was using the correct responsive media rules. However, this is doesn't appear to be the case here.

The jumbled version in your screenshots is displaying the "Default" rules and I expect the version fix above will address the issue. If the problem persists then I suggest adding a Range rule around that problematic ad size with a generous margin (+/- 100px)... so with that as a fallback (instead of Default) you'll be sure to get your elements positioned correctly.

Hope that helps,

Nope, you've already got it... 9.0.2.0915.
So if you are still seeing that error (after republishing & trafficking your creative ) then please try my Range rule fallback fix.

Hope that helps,

Oh well I had that version all the time, so I guess it will be the range rule solution, but I'm not familiar with Range rule , you have any instructions you can provide? Thanks

This video explains how to make range rules:

I can't tell what size ads are scrambled (that will help if you can identify), but here's the one range I think you'd need to cover the 3 closest sizes in your file.

Hope that helps,

Thank Kent.

It just so happened I was alerted to this problem, else I would never have known.  I did 23 sizes and ALL of the Google Web Designer previews showed the ads displaying correctly. How can I know / trust that there aren't terrible ads showing without my knowledge? Bear in mind the incorrectly displayed ad happened on a v 9.0.2.0915.

Thanks for any help/tips you can provide.

I believe this size must be a 300x50. You don't list 300x50 as a variation preset in the interface, so it wasn't checked off to be served. Therefore it should not have been served. I think you should include 300x50 in the presets.

Thank you for pointing this out, we will update our size list.
In the meantime you can add these 5 as custom sizes in GWD's Responsive panel [+ Add custom size] at the bottom of the Sizes list, then style and select them for serving. 40 sizes is the maximum number that can be selected.

An additional step you can take is to use range rules covering any possible ad size as seen in the GWD Responsive templates for Google Ads Dynamic Remarketing. Those 9 range rules cover all sizes and that becomes your fallback instead of the "Default rules" in case an ad size is served which was not selected.

Hope that helps,

Kent
