Tap Area required while Tap Area not allowed? 0 Recommended Answers 1 Reply 0 Upvotes

Hi, I'm trying to create my first HTML5 banner and everything worked out so far. I wanted to publish it, but I get the following error message:

The use of Tap Area in HTML5 ads created in Google Web Designer and the use of Javascript Exitapi.exit() in ads created in other tools is not supported.

However, when I search for a way to add a link to my banner (ad), you guys send me here: https://support.google.com/webdesigner/answer/3263494 where you tell me I DO need to use Tap Area...

I'm confused, how can I add a link/exit to my ad without getting an error message from you?

Google Display Network no longer supports new HTML5 ads with modified clickability using Tap Area in ads from Google Web Designer or using Javascript ExitApi.exit(), since December 11th 2017. We'd suggest removing any uses of Tap Area or calls to Javascript ExitApi.exit() before you upload the ad again: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/6335679
