When I want to place an element to an ad banner I can not grab the element from the libary  with mouse or wacom pencil. The same when I want to move a level. In the first versions a year ago all was funcional. But now the GWD is more and more unusable. Why?

Now I found out that the wacom pencil as pencil does not work on GWD. The pencil as mouse works and the wacom pad as touch pad works also. This is strange. At the beginning of GWD all worked fine. And now it is really unusable.

Hi Michael,

Can you please give us more info?

1. What OS are you on?
2. To use the pencil as pencil, do you need to change any setting?

We have a Wacom pad but for sure are not Wacom experts.  When we use the pencil, we can move elements around and also draw on stage. Does that mean it's a pencil and not a mouse? It seems to be working fine for us so any additional info would be helpful.

Thanks,
San

Hi San,

I'm working with a windows 7 PC and a Bamboo (model CTH 661). With the Bamboo by Wacom you can use the pencil as a pencil or as a mouse. You can switch the use in the Wacom menu. The pad of the Bamboo you can use also as a touch pad. You can switch the touch on and off directly on the pad.
Normaly I use the pencil as a pencil because every point on the screen have a reference point on the pad. So after 25 years using a pencil and not a mouse, I control the cursor with the pencil much faster than with a mouse. And always everything worked fine – until I used GWD. :(

Best regards
Michael

Thanks for the information Michael. We are going to try different settings on our Wacom tablet to see if we can reproduce this. If not, we can also purchase a Bamboo one. Will let you know.

This is a persistent issue with GWD as I’ve been bringing it up on Twitter for years.

You cannot drag and drop or drag click anything in GWD using a Wacom tablet. I’ve added GWD to my Wacom settings in Windows 7, with the same results.

It looks like the only solution is to use a mouse or switch to Adobe Animate.

Hi Travis and Michael,

I've found the way to make Wacom pen to work in Google Web Designer on Windows machines.

1. Go to Wacom Tablet Properties.
2. Add Google Web Designer (webdesigner) to the list of Applications.
3. Select webdesigner.
4. Click on Mapping tab.
5. Uncheck Use Windows Ink.

After this, I can drag elements inside Google Web Designer.

Can you please check it out and let us know if it works for you?

Thanks,
San

Hi San,
My Bamboo have no list of applications. So I can't add webdesigner to this list. But when I use my Wacom Bamboo as a touchpad it works fine.

Thanks for your effort
Michael
