"gwd.exitToItem" interactions with swipegallery? 2 Recommended Answers 5 Replies 0 Upvotes

I'm building dynamic remarketing ads that use the swipegallery to show 2 or more items at once that a customer has viewed before. What I'm trying to do right now is make it so that all elements of the ad are tied to a gwd.exitToItem event, but what I am not clear on is what happens when multiple items are displayed on the ad at a given time - would the other elements take the user to the item in the leftmost position, or something else?

When using one of the Google Web Designer templates for Dynamic Remarketing with that exitToItem event then a click on an item will exit to the dynamic landing page associated with that product. You can verify this in Preview, with your desired sample data (five_product_feed by default) clicks exit to the expected page.

Hope that helps,

Hi Kent,

I do know that clicking on an item would take someone to the specific item; what I'm asking about is when I bind other targets to a gwd.exitToItem action in a template that shows more than one item onscreen at a time. For instance, if I bind the logo to the item exit, would clicking on it take the user to the first item or the second?

It definitely does help, thanks! I had a follow-up question come up: if I removed the exitToItem events from elements of the ad, such as the header and background, would clicking on those portions take the user to the landing page defined in Google Ads, or would those elements be unresponsive to clicks?
