Extracting colors from images

Google Web Designer can generate a set of color swatches based on an image. These exact colors may not be present within the image, but compose a suggested palette that complements the image.

Only images with local sources are supported.

To extract colors from an image:

Use one of the following methods:

  • Right-click the image and select Extract colors from image from the pop-up menu.
  • Select an image. On the Color panel, select the Swatches button and click the Extract image colors button at the bottom of the panel.

The Color panel displays the color swatch palette with 5 new color swatches added. You can use these colors like any other swatches.
