Edit a Group

There are several ways to edit a group once it's been created. Edits that you make to the group will propagate to every instance of the group.

Editing a group on the workspace

You can edit a group by editing an instance of it on your workspace

  1. Select a group on the workspace by doing one of the following:
    • Double-click an instance of a group
    • Right-click (Windows) or Control+click (Macintosh) and select Edit from the pop-up menu
    The group will open for editing
  2. Make any edits to the child elements inside the group
  3. Leave the edit state by doing one of the following:
    • Double-click outside of the enclosing group
    • Click on a parent link in the breadcrumb area

All your edits will be appear in every instance of the same group.

Editing an SVG element that is part of a group is not fully supported and may cause problems.

Editing a group in the Asset Library

  1. In the Asset Library, right-click (Windows) or Control+click (Macintosh) the group you want to edit, and select Edit from the pop-up menu. The workspace in the design view is replaced with a workspace that contains only the HTML and CSS for the group
  2. Make any edits to the child elements inside the group
  3. Leave the edit state by doing one of the following:
    • Double-click outside of the enclosing group
    • Click on a parent link in the breadcrumb area

All your edits will be appear in every instance of the same group.

Renaming a group in the Asset Library

  1. Select a the group name in the Asset Library by doing one of the following:
    • Right-click (Windows) or Control+click (Macintosh) and select Rename from the pop-up menu. The group name will enter the editable state
    • Double-click the group name
  2. Enter the new name
  3. Leave the edit state by doing one of the following:
    • Double-click outside of the enclosing group
    • Click on a parent link in the breadcrumb area
