Edit a group

There are several ways to edit a group once it's been created. Edits that you make to the group will affect every instance of the group. You can break apart an instance of a group or create a duplicate group that can be edited separately if you don't want to make changes to all instances of the group.

Editing a group in the workspace

You can edit a group by editing an instance of it in the workspace.

  1. Select a group in the workspace by doing one of the following:
    • Double-click an instance of a group.
    • Right-click (Windows) or Control + click (Mac) an instance of a group and select Edit from the pop-up menu.
  2. Make edits to the child elements inside the group.
  3. Leave the editing mode by doing one of the following:
    • Double-click outside of the group.
    • Click a parent link in the breadcrumb (in the lower left corner of the workspace).

Your edits will appear in every instance of the group.

Editing a group in the Library

  1. In the Library, right-click (Windows) or Control + click (Mac) the group you want to edit, and select Edit from the pop-up menu. In this group editing mode, the workspace will display only the elements contained in the group.
  2. Make any edits to the child elements inside the group.
  3. Leave the group editing mode by clicking a parent link in the breadcrumb (in the lower left corner of the workspace).

Your edits will appear in every instance of the group.

Renaming a group in the Library

  1. Select the group name by doing one of the following:
    • Right-click (Windows) or Control + click (Mac) the group name in the Library and select Rename from the pop-up menu.
    • Double-click the group name in the Library.
  2. Enter the new name.
  3. Leave the edit state by doing one of the following:
    • Press Enter.
    • Click outside of the group name field.
