Create an event

Set the target element

The target element is the element (or an element's ancestor) that initiates the event. For example, you might have an image of a button that you want the user to touch to trigger an animation. In this case, the button image is the event target.

Set the target from the stage

  1. Right-click the element.
  2. Select Add event from the pop-up menu. The event dialog will open with the element already set as the target.
You can only select an element as an event target if the element has an ID attribute. If the element doesn't have an ID, you'll be prompted to add one.

Set the target using the Events panel

  1. Click + in the Events panel to add a new event.
  2. Select the target from the list of elements. Elements without IDs and elements nested at a different document level won't appear in the list.
