Add images and video

Import images or videos

  1. From the File menu, select "Import Assets..." or press Command+Shift+I (Mac) or Control+Shift+I (Windows)
  2. Select the file or files you want to import using the dialog. Assets will appear in the work area and in the Asset Library.

Add images or videos by dragging from your computer

  1. Select the image or video that you want to use using the computer's file system
  2. Drag the image or video over the work area.

You can drag multiple assets this way, and they will keep their sizes once they've been added. 

Add images and videos by dragging from the Asset Library

To add assets to the workspace from the local asset library:

  1. In the Asset Library, select the image or video assets that you want to use by clicking on their name.
  2. Drag the assets you want to use from the asset library directly onto the workspace where you want to use them.

To add assets to the workspace from the DoubleClick Studio asset library:

  1. Click the Studio tag in the Asset Library.
  2. Connect with the DoubleClick library by clicking the Launch button.
    If you're not signed in you'll be prompted to sign in to the Google account that's associated with your DoubleClick Studio account.
  3. Navigate through the folder structure to the asset you want to use.
  4. Drag the assets you want to use from the asset library directly onto the workspace where you want to use them.

Replace an image in the workspace

The "Swap Image" function lets you replace an image with either an image in the asset library or an image that you upload. This is especially helpful when you're replacing stock images from a template.

To replace an image on the workspace:

  1. Right click the image you want to replace.
  2. Select "Swap image..." from the pop-up menu.
  3. In the dialog, either select an image from the asset library or click "Browse" to select an image from your computer.
  4. Click "OK".

Add an image by using an image tag

  1. Click the tag tool  in the tools panel. 
  2. Select an image tag by clicking on the image element  icon in the tool options panel.
  3. Drag the tool in the workarea to create the image tag. As you drag, you can see the size and dimensions of the image area.
  4. In the Image properties section of the properties panel, set the path for the image source. Your images will be re-sized and stretched to fit the image tag that you drew.

Add a video by using a video tag

  1. Click the tag tool  in the tools panel. 
  2. Select a video tag by clicking on the video element  icon in the tool options panel.
  3. Drag the tool in the workarea to create the video tag. As you drag, you can see the size and dimensions of the image area.
  4. In the Video properties section of the properties panel, set the path for the video source. Your video will show at the largest size that can fit in the video tag without changing the aspect ratio.
