Add tags

You can add tags of any type to your documents by using the tag tool. The tag tool lets you click and drag to position the tag where you want it. You can also edit the tag location in Code view. The tag tool creates div tags by default, which then can be used as parent tags for other elements.

To create a tag:

  1. Click the tag tool  in the tools panel or use the keyboard shortcut.
  2. Select your tag type from the tool options panel.
    • To choose a div tag, click the div element icon .
    • To choose an img tag, click the image element icon .
    • To choose a video tag, click the video element icon .
    • To choose any other tag, click the custom tag icon , and type the element name you want to create in the tag field. The field autocompletes for HTML5 tags.
  3. Drag the tool into the work area to create the tag. As you drag, you can see the size and dimensions of the div area.

To nest a tag within another tag:

  1. Create a tag that you want to function as a parent tag, such as a div tag.
  2. Choose the Selection tool from the tools panel.
  3. Double-click the desired parent tag. The parent tag will then have a red outline, and will no longer be selectable.
  4. Create a new tag. The new tag will be a child tag of the parent tag you've created. You can then double-click the new tag if you want to nest your elements further.
  5. To return to the page level, double-click on the stage. Use the breadcrumb above the timeline to move to a specific level within multiple nested div tags.
