"OK Google" detection not working on brand new Fossil Gen 5 Julianna. 0 Recommended Answers 6 Replies 12 Upvotes

This watch is brand new. The first day "OK Google" detection worked, but speech output did not. Now speech output for Google Assistant works intermittently, and "Ok Google" detection absolutely does not work. (I can confirm that the microphone works however.) Here is a laundry list of all I have tried:
- factory reset more than 5x
- unpaired and re-paired the watch with my phone 5+ times
- uninstalled and reinstalled Wear OS at least 3x
- cleared the cache of nearly ALL of my applications, not just WearOS or Google related apps
- repeatedly reset the language to English - US (which it already was set to) on watch, phone, and in Google applications and features
- shut down and restarted the watch and phone about a dozen times, both after uninstalling WearOS software and after reinstalling it
- set all permissions on all applications and all features on the watch to allow
- changed the battery setting numerous times
- turn off/on the "OK Google" detection feature two dozen times
- made sure that all updates are installed
- Wondered why I didn't just return this watch and abandon the idea of a Wear OS device altogether a week ago (a day after I received the watch)

Please help. I will be returning this device shortly if I cannot resolve this before the "return by" date.

I have the identical problem with a recently purchased Ticwatch Pro 3. Extremely frustrating. I tried uninstalling (downgrading) google on the watch with no luck.

I am in the same spot as OP...nothing I do can get "ok google" to respond regardless of following all the different trouble shooting steps multiple times with a Fossil gen 5 Carlyle.  This hasn't worked since I took the watch out of the box.

Michael, correct me if I'm wrong, but I gather that there is no solution to the problem at this time.
