I downloaded the Google Fit app a little while ago but I haven't been able to sign into the app once to set up an account. Please see screenshots. There is always an error message when I start the app up, and when I attempt to sign in it will attempt to read data from the phone and then says that account is already present on my phone. I tried creating a brand new email but the issue is the same.  It seems like the Fit app cannot read my account information on my phone and does not have an option to allow me to sign in any other way. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I have tried refreshing the cache and clearing data. The app is up to date. I've tried turning permissions off and back on again, I've restarted my phone several times. I don't have any issues signing into any of my accounts through any other apps and they all have been working fine. I can't even submit feedback through the app because I can't get past the sign in page!

Please help!

Hi Kendra,

How many Google accounts do you have on your phone? And are they all personal @gmail.com accounts or are any of them associated with a school or business?

I have 2 accounts on my mobile:
1. me@work.com
2. personal@gamil.com
It offers me to login only to me@work.com

I have exactly the same issue. In an attempt to fix the issue, I deauthorized previously connected applications from Google Fit, and now these too cannot be reconnected. Other accounts on the same device - which belong to other family members - connect as they should, but any attempt to authorize my personal account results in the white box and endlessly spinning progress circle. I have tried signing in on other devices, with the same result.

The fault would seem, therefore, to be with my account rather than with any device or app, but there seems to be no way of resolving it from my end. This is a huge issue for me as I rely on certain applications synching with Google Fit.

Same problem. When trying to add google fit to other fitness apps it doesn’t work. I can initially select my google email account which then closes that pop up window and opens a larger window with no text and an endless spinning circle.

Now I'm having the same issue. It's probably Google cancelling Google Fit services. The web version was cancelled 2 months ago even.

Worked for one day, then i got "Can't verify your account. Check your Internet connection." Internet is just fine, uninstalling didn't do the job and neither did revoking all permissions for Google Fit and then prompting them again or unbinding the google Account and trying to link it again. Quite annoying.
And not even anyone of google replying to say they are working on it...

Same here. It tells me to check my Internet connection, but Internet is working fine for everything else. Can't connect to other apps or services neither.

Hi, have the same issue here. Stopped tracking for me so I figured it was the app, which was true as it was always 0. Reinstalled and now I can't sign in, the error they showed was cannot verify my account, please check internet connection. Is there any solutions to this issue ?

Same as above.  Noticed Adventure Sync wasn't updating in Pokemon Go, check my Fit and saw it hadn't been capturing anything.  Uninstalled/Reinstalled and now it keeps telling me it can't verify my account and to check my internet connection.

My connection is fine.

Exactly the same as above... adventure sync wasn't working so I checked Fit and it wasn't tracking anything... and hadn't for at least a week. Tried to refresh, then uninstalled and reinstalled. Now it says it can't authenticate me...

Same issue as everyone above, hasn't tracked activity for a week or so, uninstalled/reinstalled, and now it says can't verify account.  
Creating accounts seem to work, just can't sign into existing account.

I'm having the same problem. It wouldn't track any activity for a week, so I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Now it won't let me connect with my primary account. Secondary let me make a new profile, but now I can't switch accounts or log out at all.

Close the app.

Clear cache and storage

Restart your phone.

It worked on my pixel 3.
