[HELP] Android Wear Perfoming Searches Instead of Launching Apps

- Samsung Gear Live
- Samsung Galaxy S4 Running Stock 4.4.2

Is anyone else having issues with the Gear Live performing searches instead of launching the apps

Bug Behaviour:
- show me my steps
> performs a google search and returns results

Expected Behaviour:
- show me my steps
> launch fit app on watch and present step histogram

What I have done to attempt to resolve this issue:
- reset watch from watch menu
- factory reset phone
- reset watch from recovery menu
- checked for updates on phone
- checked for updates on watch
- contacted google support

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as the issue appears related to software, and is unlikely related to hardware.

[EDIT 2] Because this issue appears to be affecting a plethora of devices, we can conclude this is not related to hardware but appears to be related to a possible change in the Google API and handling of Google Fit commands.

[EDIT 3] I have not dropped my watch off at the UPS location, yet, and I think I will hold off for a week to test further, as the issue does not appear to be hardware at all.

[EDIT 4] Issue appears resolved without any software being updated on the phone or watch and without hardware replacement. What this means was this was an issue with google search queries server side and nothing client side. Some users are still reporting issues with
- set reminder
- set alarm
- play music command

[UPDATE #1]

After google support reached the end of troubleshooting, I was advised to seek hardware replacement. I contacted Samsung Support directly, and they have emailed me a UPS label to send the device in for replacement. I will update this thread as soon as I have another update or in no more than 10 days.

A few others are having very similar issues across different hardware http://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidWear/comments/2o16k1/voice_command_issues/

Thats the exact issue. Google support thinks its HW related. It seems more logical to be SW related but we'll see what the techs say when they receive my GearLive. I already confirmed all my voice settings, because I remember seeing that before. It literally changed overnight, none of my software updated.

Hey Marcus a hardware swap won't fix the issue I was having the same problem with my moto 360. I swapped it out under warranty and the issue persists with the new watch it has something to do with Google now or Android wear!

Hi Mar,

Thanks
