My watch won't connect to my phone via Wi-Fi

Step 1: Check your Bluetooth connection

1. Make sure your phone's Bluetooth is turned on:

Look up the Bluetooth settings in your phone's Settings app Settings.
Tip: In some devices, you can find it under "Connected devices."

2. Make sure your watch is not in Airplane mode:

Wear OS by Google

  1. If your screen is dim, tap the screen to wake up the watch.

  2. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Settings Settings and then Connectivity.
  4. Scroll until you see Airplane mode and make sure it's Off.

All other watches

  1. If your screen is dim, tap the screen to wake up the watch.

  2. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Settings Settings.
    • If you don't see it right away, swipe left.
  4. Scroll until you see Airplane mode and make sure it says Off.
Step 2: Restart your watch and phone
  1. If your screen is dim, tap the screen to wake up the watch.
  2. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Settings Settings.
    • If you don't see it right away, swipe left.
  4. Tap System.
  5. Scroll down and tap Restart .
  6. Restart your phone by pressing and holding the power button.
Step 3: If nothing else works

Note: When you reset your watch to factory settings, apps, settings, and data on your watch will all be erased.

1. Unpair your watch from your phone

  1. On your Android phone, open the Settings app Settings.
  2. Under "Connected devices," tap Bluetooth.
  3. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
  4. Next to the name of your watch, tap Settings Settings. On the screen that opens, tap Forget

2. Reset your watch to factory settings 

  1. If your screen is dim, tap the screen to wake up the watch.
  2. Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap Settings Settings and then System.
    • If you don't see Settings when you swipe down from the top of the screen, swipe left.
  3. Scroll down and tap Disconnect and reset Disconnect & reset.
    • If you don't see Disconnect and reset, tap Unpair with phone Disconnect & reset.
  4. To confirm you’d like to unpair and reset your watch, tap Done Done.

If you’re still having trouble, you may need to uninstall the Wear OS app and reinstall it before trying again.

3. Pair your watch and phone again

  1. On your phone, open the Wear OS by Google app Wear OS by Google.
  2. At the top of the screen, tap the Down arrow Down Arrow.
  3. Select Add a new watch.
  4. To finish reconnecting your watch, follow the instructions on your phone.
