See your heart rate & check your steps

To check your heart rate, steps, and other information, use the Google Fit app on your smartwatch.

Set up Google Fit

  1. On your iPhone, open the App Store.
  2. Find and download the Google Fit app Google Fit.
  3. Open the Google Fit app Google Fit.
  4. Sign in to the same Google Account you use on your watch.

Track your steps

You can check how much you've walked so far. Google Fit shows an estimate of how many steps you’ve taken throughout the day.

See your steps in Google Fit
  1. If the screen is dim, tap it to wake up the watch.
  2. To see a list of your apps, press the Power button.
  3. Open the Google Fit app Google Fit.
  4. Scroll down to see your steps and overall walking distance. 
  5. To see more details, tap Steps.

  1. If the screen is dim, tap it to wake up the watch.
  2. Swipe right until you see the Assistant screen. Then, tap Microphone Microphone.
    • If your watch doesn’t show this option, press and hold the Power button.
  3. Say "Show me my steps."

Check your heart rate

To monitor your heart rate, you need a watch with a heart rate sensor. Some examples include:

  • LG Watch Sport
  • Huawei Watch 2
  • Montblanc Summit
  • Fossil Q Control
  • Misfit Vapor

Speak to get your heart rate

For best results, tighten your watch strap around your wrist.

  1. If the screen is dim, tap it to wake up the watch.
  2. Swipe right until you see the Assistant screen. Then, tap Microphone Microphone.
    • If your watch doesn’t show this option, press and hold the Power button.
  3. Say "Show me my heart rate."
Measure your heart rate over time

To see your heart rate in a chart over time:

  1. If the screen is dim, tap it to wake up the watch.
  2. Open the Google Fit app Google Fit.
  3. To see your heart rate chart, scroll down to the "Heart rate" section.
Fix your heart rate monitor

If your watch's heart rate monitor isn't working, try these steps.

  • Tighten the watch strap around your wrist.
  • Make sure the back of the watch completely touches your wrist.
  • Keep still. Moving sometimes makes the sensor inaccurate.
