How billing works in Waze Ads

How you're charged

When you advertise on Waze, you set a maximum daily budget and pay only for the number of impressions your Takeover, Pin and Arrow ads actually received each month. You are not charged for more than the budget you set.

Additionally, you are not charged for Promoted Search impressions, or any other ad engagements, such as clicks, calls and navigations.

When you'll pay

Your credit card is charged during the first week of each month for the advertising costs of the previous month, and any unpaid costs from previous billing cycles.

What happens if a charge is declined?

If a charge is declined, you'll receive an email requesting that you update your payment method. Once you update the payment method, the system immediately attempts to charge your card again.

If you don't update the payment method, the system will attempt a second charge during the following weeks. If the system fails to charge your card after several attempts, your account will be disabled. To restart your ads again, you'll need to sign in to your account and settle the debt.

What you pay with

You can pay with credit cards from the following providers: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and JCB credit. Debit cards are not supported.

FAQs

Am I being charged if my ad wasn't approved?

No, you won't be charged if your ad wasn't approved or didn't end up going live on the Waze map.

What happens if my campaign went over the budget I've set for it?

You might see that your campaign costs are a little higher than the budget you've set. If you do, don't worry–any spend over the budget you have set is waived automatically.

How am I being charged after I stop advertising?

After you stop advertising, or when all your campaigns have ended, you'll receive a final charge in the subsequent month for all billable impressions served up to that point. After that, you won't receive any additional charges as long as your account or campaigns remain inactive.
