Work with the Waze editors community

The Waze editing community represents a group of volunteers who edit the map around the world, and ultimately help improve traffic conditions by ensuring our maps are up-to-date and accurate. Many of our community leaders, or “Champs,” are already involved with Waze for Cities either through collaborating with existing partners or by helping us connect with new ones.

The best way to get in touch with the community is through the dedicated forum. To join the forum, you must have an approved Waze for Cities account and completed the onboarding process. Then, you can click the Forum tab the in left menu of the Waze for Cities portal to join the conversation.

Best practices when writing to the community:

  • Clearly introduce yourself - include what organization or city are you working for and your role.

  • Please remember the community members are volunteers. They’re very motivated, knowledgeable and willing to help, however, they aren’t Waze employees.

  • Community leaders represent hundreds of active and experienced map editors. They can provide important insight and play an integral role in completing complex projects.
